SALON POLICY

Hair Extensions

Hair extensions are a natural human hair product and each batch of extensions differs from the next as it is sourced from a wide range of different donors. It is reasonable to expect, including but not limited too;

  • colour fading - needing to recolour or tone the extensions regularly to maintain the best possible match

  • breakage / a reduction in length and thickness overtime

  • a set that is naturally more porous, fragile or frizzy when compared with a previous set you may of had

Due to the nature of human hair extensions I recommend following our aftercare instructions very carefully. The longevity of the set you have is unique to that particular set of hair and can be more or less hardwearing than a previous set you may of had.

The hair extensions will naturally deteriorate overtime therefore, it is reasonable to expect them to become dry, brittle, form split ends, become shorter and to fade in colour. Caring for them correctly will ensure the particular set you have lasts as long as possible.

Generally I advise with excellent aftercare that they will last up to 9 months but this is not guaranteed. It is often advised that you replace half the weight of the set at around 4 months after fitting to refresh and thicken up the set.

Maintenance

Hair extensions are a long term commitment that require regular maintenance appointments to ensure the safety of your natural hair. Generally, all hair extension methods require a maintenance appointment every 6 - 8 weeks, roughly every two months.

Refit / maintenance appointments cost anywhere between £55 - £150 and include a complete removal of the extensions, removal of naturally shedded hair build up and refit using new, full sections of natural hair strong enough to hold of the weight of the extensions for up to another 8 weeks. If needed cut, blend and styling to finish is also included.

We ask that where possible maintenance appointments are arranged in salon, in advance of your next appointment to ensure you're able to attend these important appointments on time.

Overtime the extensions will move away from the scalp as they move downward with your natural hair growth and your natural hair will continue as normal with its natural growing and shedding phases.

Your naturally shedded hair will be within the beads / bonds and unable to fall away from the head as usual. This shedded hair will build up within the beads overtime and eventually cause matting and tangling to occur if regular maintenance isn't attend on time.

As your hair naturally sheds there will also be much less natural hair within the bead to hold the weight of the extension which without maintenance will cause tension and scalp irritation.

Therefore, If the hair extensions are left too long without maintenance you risk damaging your natural hair. If I feel you are at risk of damaging your hair due to a lack of care or maintenance you will be provided with a removal only and may not be offered further appointments.

Aftercare

Once you leave the salon it is your responsibility to care for your hair extensions correctly and to ensure you only use the recommended products on them.

You will be provided with a link to my detailed aftercare instructions which includes all you need to know in order to care for your hair extensions correctly. New clients are also provided with a complimentary aftercare samples set.

I only advise to use products on your hair extensions that are designed for use with hair extensions. Any other products are not recommended and can cause a wide range of issues including but not limited too:

  • extensions falling / slipping out

  • damaged beads or bonds making the extensions unusable

  • damage to the hair extensions resulting in breakage, matting, brittle, dry and unmanageable hair extensions that are unusable

  • major colour fading or discolouration which requires colour services to correct

Caring for your hair extensions correctly means you'll need to change your hair care / hair washing routine a little which can feel daunting for some at first, this is totally normal. It can take a bit of getting used to but once you do most clients find its actually really easy and simple.

Deposits Policy

All new sets of hair extensions require a minimum 50% non refundable deposit in order to secure an appointment and source your hair for you. Until this deposit is paid your preferred appointment date remains unsecured and therefore available to other clients.

Initial deposits must be paid via bank transfer.

The remaining 50% is payable once you've had them fitted prior to leaving the salon. The remaining 50% may be paid via Clearpay if you wish to spread the cost over 4 interest free instalments.

(processing fee's do apply when using this service)

Once your hair extensions are ordered we cannot offer any kind of refund so please be certain you want to go ahead before making payment.

In the unlikely event that you change your mind and the hair extensions have already been ordered, these cannot be returned to the supplier or refunded by the supplier.

Therefore, you are required to cover the remaining cost of the hair extensions and a 15% admin fee based on the remaining balance you have left to pay. This covers the costs involved in sourcing, ordering and preparing your hair extensions. Once the balance is paid the hair extensions will be released to you.

Hypothetical Example

Lets say your total balance for our hair extensions service is £400

You pay a 50% non refundable deposit of £200 via bank transfer and therefore have £200 remaining left to pay

Two weeks later you change your mind or for any reason can no longer have the extensions and want to cancel. As we have already ordered the extensions for you, we cannot offer a refund

Your initial deposit didn't cover the total cost of the hair extensions we ordered for you. Therefore, we calculate you still have £50 left to pay towards the hair itself

The 15% admin fee comes to £30 therefore, you owe £80 before we can release the hair extensions to you whereby you're welcome to take them away

No Show Policy

Your appointment is very important to me, and is reserved specifically for you. When there is a no show I cannot fill the appointment and this has a huge knock on effect both on the business and me personally.

I totally understand that things can unexpectedly come up and that's why we've kept our policy really fair. If you let us know in advance, we may well be able to accomadate another client and this is reflected in our policies.

- Consultation No Shows

These are complimentary appointments however, if we don't hear from you and you don't turn up on the day you'll be marked as a no show by our appointment system. If you want to re book a £15 non refundable deposit is required to be paid via bank transfer before we can plan you back in.

If you attend your second arranged consultation and decide to go ahead with a booking for hair extension services, the £15 deposit will be taken off your total bill. If you do not decide to go ahead with a booking the £15 deposit is retained by us.

- New Hair Fitting No Shows

A fitting appointment is blocked out at 2- 4 hours per slot with this time 110% dedicated to you personally and your hair. A no show for a lengthly appointment like this has a huge knock on effect.

No shows to hair fittings are charged at 50% of the remaining total payable. We cannot re book a new fitting date for you until the final bill is paid in full including the No Show Fee.

Hypothetical Example

You have £200 remaining to pay on the day of fitting but you no show. You are required to pay a 50% No Show Fee on top of your bill which in this example equates to £100. Therefore, a total of £300 is payable before we can re book your appointment.

- Maintenance No Shows

A maintenance appointment is blocked out at 2- 4 hours per slot with this time 110% dedicated to you personally and your hair. A no show for a lengthly appointment like this has a huge knock on effect.

No shows to maintenance appointments in the first instance are charged at 50% of the total payable and in the second instance within a 12 month period at 100%. We cannot re book a new fitting date for you until the No Show Fee is paid in full.

Lateness

If you are running late to your appointment please let us know as soon as you can. If you'll be late by 15 minutes or more your appointment will need to be rescheduled due to a lack of time to complete your service before my next client and / or I may have personal plans thereafter your appointment to attend which I also cannot be late for.

In these circumstances a late cancellation fee of 50% of the total cost of your service is payable before I can reschedule your appointment. Please do leave with plenty of time before your appointment taking into consideration traffic and parking.
